Huma Qureshi was born in Delhi to a Muslim family. Her father, a restaurateur runs a series of ten restaurants around Delhi, named Saleem’s. Huma’s brother, Saqib Salim, also an actor, appeared in Nupur Asthana’s ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge’ (2011).

She hails from a professional theatrical background and she has worked with several theatre based directors like NK Sharma, Sohaila Kapur, Aamir Raza Husain and Rahul Pulkeshi. Later on, she shifted to Mumbai and she went on to shoot for almost fifteen advertisement brands namely Pears Soap, Saffola Oil, Samsung Guru, Nerolac, Vita Marie, andMederma Cream. The hard work and effort which she put in all these advertisements has led her to gain considerable recognition from everyone. She had even worked alongside several superstars of Bollywood like Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan in various advertisements.Huma Qureshi had signed up for three other films even before ‘Gangs of Wassaypur’ had hit the screens. Her upcoming movie is considered to be Bollywood’s first film to be based entirely on food. This film has been titled ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ where Qureshi will play the role of a fun loving, jolly Punjabi girl. Presently she is working on the sets of ‘Ek Thi Daayan’, a psychological thriller which is produced jointly by both Ekta Kapoor as well as by Vishal Bhardwaj. She has also signed up for Nikhil Advani’s upcoming project which has not yet been given any title. Huma Qureshi has also performed to an item song in the Hindi version (dubbed) of a drama based film, ‘Trishna’ which has Frieda Pinto in its ranks.The actor claims that he has met Huma only a couple of times and has no clue where these stories crop from. Shahid is Bollywood’s most eligible bachelor and hence, time and again there have been rumor mills running on the actor’s link-ups. Every time Shahid is spotted engaging with any girl, a story is weaved around the same. It has become very difficult for the actor to visit theaters, restaurants or any sort of public place. His most recent link up was with Huma Qureshi. However Shahid’s spokesperson says, “Shahid had a very strong female following right from his first film. His boyish charm, attract umpteenth link-up stories, whenever he is spotted with a girl.” Talking in particular about Huma Qureshi, the spokesperson clarifies, “Shahid has met Huma socially and briefly exchanged pleasantries. He has been absorbed with work with little time for himself.” Shahid adds, “I have no clue where these stories crop from. I’ve met Huma only twice.” He further adds “Singledom has its own challenges. 5 wardrobe mistakes most Indian women make

We’ve seen them work their magic on ‘What Not To Wear’ and now Trinny & Sussanah pinpoint the Indian woman’s wardrobe mistakes. Are you overdoing the jewellery or wearing the wrong lingerie? 
Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine of British television series What Not to Wear fame are now taking their critical eye to how Indian women and men dress for a new show on TLC called Trinny & Susannah's Makeover Mission India. This is their five-point checklist of wardrobe mistakes to ward off.

 

Sticking to a pallid palette in work wear

"[Don't] just do black with white," advises Constantine, "Especially when [you're] wearing a modern western dress." "You have such a great heritage of colours, introduce more of them into your work wardrobe," they both implore. And play with tonal hues -- mix pink with orange, wear red with orange or green with turquoise.

 

Wearing skinny jeans

"Everybody wears skinny jeans to enhance their shape because it's so fashionable right now," says Woodall, but they don't necessarily flatter everyone. "A lot of Indian woman are much bigger on their bums, so it'll be nicer for their body shape if they wore a boot leg or wide leg trouser which will balance out their thighs," she adds.

 

Hoarding clothes

Most people get comfortable in one particular style, says Constantine, "The clothes that you always wear are probably safe and repetitive." Her advice is to put your trust in a good friend who'll be honest and objective with you and critically evaluate your closet. "The stuff you never wear is probably because you're scared of it, or it's expensive or you bought it on sale. Maybe it doesn't fit well, then you're hoping when you lose weight it will," she says. "Put all your clothes into three piles -- clothes you never really wear, clothes you wear sometimes and clothes you always wear," she adds, and get rid of what you don't need in there.

 

Overdoing it with jewellery

Unlike with work wear, Indians are quite brazen with colour when they dress ethnic, which is a good thing. Where they go wrong, say the duo, is with the excessive jewellery."Sometimes you're so overwhelmed by the diamonds and make-up that you see on the woman," they say, "We're just saying have one amazing thing and leave out the rest."

 

Wearing the wrong bra size

This is a problem the duo have seen in most countries where they've hosted their shows, and India turned out to be no exception. “I don’t need to work with Kareena in order to feel fulfilled. Kareena is a great actor and it would have been nice to work with her,” said Saif.

Khan added, “I feel it burdens the script when you put two of us together. The fun of the scene becomes dull and that’s a danger.”

The news may be better from Saif and Kareena’s angle but surely the fans of the two stars are not going to digest it.
